Jonathan has the next two weeks off from school, so we're in for 14 days of daddy-son fun, and hopefully some sun! Today is supposed to be the warmest of the next 10 days, and there will be a couple of days of rain coming up. Hopefully Easter at the Hollywood Bowl will be sunny this year, because the event happens, come rain or shine.Today's activities are all about water. This morning, Jonathan got to play with homemade snow (cool idea from Fisher Price's web site--they have all sorts of at-home activities, broken down by age). He got to push the ice crush button on the blender, too! He's always loved pushing buttons, and now he's getting even better at figuring out the specific purposes of each button, instead of just pushing wildly and seeing what happens. After snow time, we put on our shorts and headed down to the garage to wash our dusty relic of a car. It's been almost one year since the car overheated and blew out a heater hose in the main cabin (I looked like a Cheech & Chong movie, stopped at a red light with a giant misty cloud fogging up my windows.). Since then, it's been collecting dust in the garage. Jonathan played with the hose, helped with rinsing the car, and ran to and fro in our parking garage a hundred times.
He was soaked in no time, so, when the washing and drying were done, I stripped off his shirt and let him go to town in the car. Well, he didn't literally go to town, but I'm sure he'd have tried if I let him. Fortunately, it's hard to screw up anything in a car that doesn't run and has a dead battery. At least it looks better, now!
As I write this, Jonathan is snoring away. He went down for his nap late this afternoon, exhausted but happy. Daddy's a little tired, too, so I think I'll go catch a few winks on the couch before JD wakes up. Oh, and sorry that the pictures are so dark. We get a lot of light in the garage, but the camera flash made the background look black.
