Spring Break 2010 - Day 12

Day 12 of Jonathan's spring break was intended to be a quick day at work for mommy, and an early departure for an evening at Disneyland. Funny how Fridays never seem to stay as planned, sometimes thankfully. After a fairly long day at work, I was surprisingly uninterested in going to Disneyland. We changed our plans, and Jonathan spent the evening with Gamma and Gampa while Mommy and Daddy were given a date night.

We don't often have date nights (maybe three or four since Jonathan was born), so it always feels so weird to be in the car and not see Jonathan in his seat. As with all parents, he's never far from our minds while we're away, but we can rest easy when we know he's having a great time too. Gamma caught lots of cute pictures from their time together while we were out. Hopefully she'll be willing to share a bit about their fun evening.

For us, date night was wonderful . . . dinner at one of our favorite restaurants (Louise's Trattoria in Old Town Pasadena) and a late showing of DreamWorks' "How to Train Your Dragon." If you haven't seen it, please find time to go while it's still in theaters. It's adorable, sweet, and fun! One of my co-workers just married one of the film's Rough Layout Artists (if you go, look for Joshua Gunther in the credits!). It was so fun to see his name up on the screen. We'll wait a little longer for Jonathan to see it, but not too long . . . I can't wait to have it in our DVD collection! It's a really sweet story. My date was pretty sweet too. :)
