Flashback :: January Home Time

January's cold and wet weather provided the perfect opportunity to snuggle indoors by the fire, drink mugs and mugs of hot cocoa, and find creative ways to entertain ourselves without going outside. We baked. A lot. Jonathan particularly enjoyed making these Vegan Chocolate Donuts!

We also had loads of fun making these snowmen . . .

. . . and these super fun marshmallow sculptures! Jonathan absolutely loves to build things, so he was thrilled to be given marshmallows and toothpicks. He spent an entire afternoon coming up with new designs, making sure they could stand on their own, and seeing how big he could make them (oh, and eating and eating and eating marshmallows!).

Of course, we also had several teaser snow moments. Jonathan rushed outside each time it looked like it would snow, in hopes that the big white flakes would stick. Much to his dismay, we only had a dusting here and there.

Lots of smiles and goofy moments make up our days, and January was filled with both. We had lots of fun just being together and being silly. This face brings us so much joy!

I count it such a gift to be able to spend these everyday moments with our boy. It is becoming more and more obvious that time with him moves quickly. It seems like he's growing every single day, and each day I wonder where my sweet little baby went and where this silly little boy came from. He's truly our gift, and each moment with him, no matter how everyday ordinary, is a tremendous blessing.
