Flashback: Fall Football Fun

On a beautiful, crisp, October day, our little band of pirates headed north to Salem to meet up with college friends, the Coopers, at Willamette University for an afternoon of collegiate football. It was so much fun to be able to pass on a bit of our own school spirit to the kiddos. So often our family ends up cheering for state schools, so it's a treat when we get to root for our own teams. Jonathan couldn't wait to show his Whitworth spirit as he put on his pirate hat and red and black jacket.

He loved watching the game and was quite the little cheerleader. But however exciting the game was, it wasn't nearly as exciting as getting to spend the day with his friends, Caden and Ellie.

The boys had a great time catching up and cheering together . . .

And the girls had a pretty good time too! :)

The game was great. They ended up tying it up right at the end and going into overtime. Whitworth did everything a great team should do and came out on top. They won, 25-24! Their win made for a pretty exciting end to our afternoon.

After spending so many fall weekends in college down on the track cheering on the Pirates (sadly, usually they lost), it was such a joy to watch our little man get so into the game. He was a true Pirate!

Arghhhhhh!
