Christmas Tree Hunting in Oregon

Over the last 14 Christmases, our little family has chosen our Christmas trees from many places . . . tree farms in Snoqualmie, Port Orchard, Issaquah, Pasadena, the parking lots of the Pasadena Home Depot and Target, and now from a little tree farm in Veneta, Oregon. We have so many great memories of our tree hunts, and the last five Christmases, with little man in tow, have been the best!

Carroll Tree Farm in Veneta (less than ten miles from our house) is run by the nicest family who have done a great job making the farm festive and slightly holiday cheesy (kinda fun). Jonathan loved all of the extra touches!

He also loved the great hunt! He ran down every row of trees, rested and crawled on the ground, and played hide and seek with mom and dad.

He even provided us with plenty of adorable smiles and looks!

Chop, chop, chop . . . down came the tree!

The something awesome happened . . . one of the guys who work at the farm came and drove our tree to our car!! It gave Jonathan a chance to learn about how to tell a tree's age. Our tree this year is 14 years old!

We started the long walk back, which took us past a pretty little pond (with a view of the three wisemen).

We also saw the moon! It was a gorgeous afternoon and early evening.

Someone kept my hand warm for most of our walk back.

Daddy caught a special view of mommy and Jonathan as we left Candy Cane Lane.

What was the best part of our adventure? Sipping hot cocoa as we squeezed into our car overtaken by a nine-foot tree! :)

We had so much fun on our tree adventure and now love sitting in the glow of our beautiful tree every night. What a great start to the holiday season!

HOLY COW, a 9 foot tree?! That thing's massive! I didn't know you had such tall ceilings at your house. Time to go buy more ornaments! :) Oh, and I don't wish my bad tree luck on you...when I started decorating, I had SIX strands of lights die on me in a row! Sheesh.

Ha! Funny thing is that I didn't even come close to using all of our ornaments on it and it's packed (yes, our family is a little Christmas obsessed). Jonathan has a little tree in his room with his favorite ornaments, and we have one in our room, too. We are blessed with tall ceilings in this place . . .nine foot on the main floor and most of the upstairs, but more like 12-14 feet in our bedroom. Imagine a tree big enough for that space! :) Sorry about the lights. We have a new tool that we LOVE . . . it fixes strands so easily! I'll have to check the name of it and let you know. Pictures of the tree decorated coming soon! :)
