One Saturday in February we had planned to go exploring a town just south of us for the afternoon. We were having such a relaxing day at home that we didn't realize how late it was by the time we left. As soon as we got in the car, we changed plans and looked for somewhere local to go on a nice walk together. We had seen an extension of the wetlands a few miles from us and decided to check it out. It's a nice soft path through a field and a forested area. Jonathan loved it and was just excited to be going on an adventure with Mommy and Daddy!
We set out for our walk during the "golden hour," which just made everything more fun to photograph. The scenery was beautiful. Jonathan loved watching the geese take flight!
He also loved having the freedom to explore. He didn't waste anytime before finding a stick, a path through the woods, and much more! He was in a pretty silly mood.
Mommy and Daddy enjoyed taking in the beauty of dusk. It was such a refreshing winter day; a little warmer than usual, moon high in the clear sky, and small signs of spring all around us. Gorgeous and so refreshing.
As we neared the end of our dusk-walk, our shadows long on the earth, the sun was saying "good night," the moon was saying "hello," and our boy was saying, "I don't want to go home." All signs of a good walk, indeed.
No walk would be complete without some silly Jonathan face time. He loves making goofy faces for the camera! We couldn't help but snap some shots of this adorable face.
What a perfect way to end our day's adventure; a perfect end to a midwinter day.
