Well Visit

We got back from Jonathan's 4-month well visit a while ago. Dr. Scaff (his pediatrician) says he looks great and is just perfect. We couldn't agree more. :) He was really mellow for the visit, which always makes things easier.

The stats... Jonathan is officially long and lean. He weighed in at 14lbs 13oz, in the 50th percentile in weight. Then he was measured. Different story. He is now 26 inches long, which puts him in the 90th percentile!! Yes, boys and girls, I did say 90th. No wonder his 3-6 month clothes are already becoming high waters! He's now into the last stage of Swaddler diapers, and I'm sure he'll outgrow those in no time as well.

Dr. Scaff did recommend that we try giving Jonathan a different formula...a sensitive with rice protein added to lessen his spitting up. JD has a tendency to want to share his food with us after he eats it. So, we'll give it a shot and see if it helps. He also said that Jonathan is big enough to start on solids if we'd like. I think we'll hold off, but that was exciting to hear. Guess it comes back to that whole thing about him being in the 90th percentile. ;)

Now to why he's currently sacked out in his crib. He got his booster vaccinations today. :( It is so hard to watch him in pain. He did a great job, though. He didn't fuss at all with the oral vaccination...he actually kinda liked it. So cute. But then I held him and kissed his cheek as the nurse gave him three shots in his pudgy little thighs. Ugh. He didn't scream at all with the first one until right after she took it out. Fortunately she was super quick and I was able to pick him up in no time. He cried for a minute or two, but then just got cuddly and quiet. Sweet boy.

So, that's the update! We go back in two months for his next shots and a check-up.

What a brave, big boy we have. :)
