It's the end of the school year in Eugene! Last week Michael said good bye to most of his students at University of Oregon, along with the graduate students he was working with and supervising at the University Counseling Center. After sad good-byes were said, we had an opportunity to celebrate the year together at the UO's Chancellor's house . . . a stunning old home just south of campus. Families were invited and Jonathan couldn't pass up the opportunity for some yummy food and playtime in a big yard!
He absolutely loves Daddy's fellow interns, Lilia, Liz, and Mariko. He gets so excited to play with them and usually ends up stealing Lilia to go somewhere Mommy and Daddy don't want to. :) He got to play some tag with them at the party.
The grounds of the Chancellor's house are absolutely beautiful. While Daddy was inside at the "Hogwarts Graduation Ceremony" (celebrating his supervisee's accomplishments), Mommy and Jonathan explored the park-like setting.
Jonathan was particularly excited about the multiple "wands" (in keeping with the Hogwarts theme) that he found around the grounds. He proceeded to pick wands out for Mommy, Daddy, and himself (his being the largest, of course). He then went around casting spells on people (thank you to Sesame Street's Abby's Flying Fairy School for teaching him what spells are). He turned Daddy's co-worker into cows and pigs, bringing laughter to everyone.

The party provided a great excuse for Mommy to do some baking. Thanks to a new love of Pinterest, Mommy has a ton of new desserts to try over the summer. Daddy's co-workers will benefit from the baking as the summer goes by and Mommy and Daddy want to taste things but not gain 500 pounds. :) Mommy's additions to the celebration: Margarita Cupcakes with Tequila-Lime Buttercream and S'mores Bars. The other cupcakes shown were just so cute for the occasion that I had to share a picture!
Overall it was a fun celebration. It's hard to believe that the school year is over and that we now only have about eight weeks left until Daddy's internship at UO is finished. We have lots of adventures planned for the next couple of months, and I have a million backflash posts to share (including three trips to Disneyland, swimming lessons, Gamma's birthday, and more!), so check back often for updates. Promise I'll be better in the coming months!
In the meantime, congratulations to Daddy for finishing the school year so well, for being the best supervisor to the best supervisee, and for making a difference in the lives of over 50 college students and all of your co-workers. You are our hero and we love you!
