When we arrived at his dentist (who I just found online and decided to go with based on Yelp reviews) and walked in . . . mommy through the big door and Jonathan through a door just his size. Immediate excitement! We were greeted by a super nice staff (of course . . . it's Eugene and everyone is nice here), who quickly pointed mommy to the interactive check-in kiosk. Meanwhile, Jonathan's hygienist came out to play with him in the playhouse and arcade (thus gaining his trust and a huge smile). We walked back and she gave him his goodie bag right away . . . a new toothbrush, yummy toothpaste, some floss, and a couple of other things. Then he got his choice of sunglasses and grabbed the very cool Cars pair, put them on for about a minute, and then decided he really didn't need them. :)
Grape was his flavor of choice for the cleaner, and his hygienist let him hold it, taste it, and even use the cleaning tool on himself. The check-up was quick. He let the dentist count his teeth after a little bit of coercion (he got his toy before he normally would have). His teeth are perfect except for the little chip on his front tooth from when he was learning to walk. Overall it was an awesome experience and I can only hope that his next dentist is as cool as this one!
